It had taken Aiba quite awhile to fall asleep, so now that he was asleep he was soaking up as much of it as possible. Dreams abandoned him in this deeper sleep and Aiba even snored quietly into his pillow.
If he had been dreaming, it would have been good dreams. The only reason he couldn't sleep was excitement over having his cast removed that day. He would wake up at the last possible moment, so he didn't have to wait around in anticipation of the moment when it would finally be gone.
He'd been so preoccupied with excitement about that, he'd forgotten (granted, he was fast asleep and he'd forgotten just about everything) about the gift he'd left for Misono on the counter for her to find in the morning. Her birthday had been yesterday, and she didn't work Wednesdays so Aiba didn't see her. Hopefully, this would make up for that.
