In retrospect, Aiba should not have looked it in the eye. He was convinced now that that was what started all of this. If he had just gone through the process of cleaning the cage as nicely as possible, and not been sending the stupid kangaroo worried looks, none of this might have happened. He showed weakness!

The zoo had called him that morning, to say that they were understaffed and wondering if he could spare a few hours to do some cage cleaning. Well, that was no problem right? Aiba had called Misono to cover for him at the shop, which freed him up to take a volunteer shift at the zoo. Normally, Aiba loved volunteering there! Normally, they didn't force him into cages with violent kangaroos. And now Aiba's arm was broken, and as he walked to the edge of the park, Aiba held it close to his chest and struggled to get out his phone, open it, and dial with one working hand.

At first, Aiba wasn't sure who to call, but after the weekend before, and Sho's incident, Aiba figured if he was going to call anyone it ought to be Sho (and nothing to do with wanting to see the human again, really). Not that Aiba couldn't get himself to the hospital all on his own, he knew he could. But Aiba hated hospitals, always suspicious they would discover he was a demon, and that he was immune to human diseases, and try to study and do experiments on him. He tended to avoid them.

But he couldn't avoid them if he needed his arm fixed. This wasn't one of those things you could just hope would heal up properly on it's own. It still needed to be looked after, even if it would heal faster than any human's break. Bringing the phone up to his ear, Aiba listened for the ring, but after several, it kicked over to Sho's voice mail. Aiba left his message, plopping down on the nearest empty bench. He might be waiting awhile, and it did throb with pain a little bit (okay, a lot), but he really didn't want to go alone.

"Hey Sho-chan! It's Aiba! Hey I don't know if you're busy right now, but...I had a little bit of an accident and I think I need to go to the hospital! I was wondering if you'd go with me. It's okay if you're busy, I can call Nino or Oh-chan maybe, but call me back and let me know, okay? I'm in Central Park right now, so I'll wait to hear back from you. Call me back! Bye!" He ignored the odd look the lady with the walker gave him as she trundled her way by, and just smiled and waved at her with his un-injured arm.
