Monday was magazine day.
Misono believed it was a sign. Time to put last week behind her and focus on this week. Maki would help her find answers. Yesung would feel better. The new nudie magazines would go on the shelf, and Pinch would finally be well enough to have his surgery.
She focused totally on the task at hand, humming as she replaced magazines, piling the unsold issues behind the counter for Aiba to deal with later. The new magazines went on to the shelves and she spread a fan of them on the counter top, just to advertise. That done, she picked up Pinch and laid him on the counter.
"Now Pinch," she said soothingly, "you've been very brave waiting for your surgery. But now that the infection is clear we can proceed." She peeled away the line of bandages holding the nearly two-foot gash in Pinch's back closed. "Just breathe deeply and let the gas do its work, okay?" She put one hand over Pinch's head and threaded the needle with one (and a half) hands. "You can trust me; I know a doctor!"
