After the double date, he was truly glad that Aiba still wanted to see him. Not only see him, but go with him to Ohno's show. Of course, Sho was going to be a good friend and pay attention to the show entirely and not focus on butterflies in his stomach if Aiba put a hand on his thigh or... you know, something along those lines.
At least, that was his plan for the evening before he'd been mugged on the way to Aiba's apartment.
It was embarrassing enough that he'd been put in that kind of situation. He'd lived in New York City for a good while now and never been faced with an attacker. If he had been, and the mugger didn't have a gun, he'd be fine because he usually had something on him that would serve as a good defense against an assailant. Unfortunately, in order to look appropriate for going to a performance, he'd worn his nicer pants with smaller pockets and couldn't fit more than his wallet and his phone. Luckily he had a necklace with the key to his apartment and mailbox underneath his sweater.
Because he wouldn't be going home with his wallet or his phone tonight.
"You've kept me here for twenty minutes. Shouldn't you have just hit me and run?" Sho complained as the gang of... what looked like twelve year old boys, but he was seriously hoping they were older than that, kicked him hard in the side.
"Shut up you stupid fuck," the ring leader shouted, "And give us the pin number!"
He wasn't going to give some little street punk asshole the pin (because pin number was redundant and he would know that if he'd been educated) to his debit card. Hell no. He shook his head once more as he stood up and earned a violent shove against the wall of a brick building. Ow.
He wasn't going to fight back against kids, and they outnumbered him anyway. He just hoped they'd realize it was broad daylight and give up soon, even if they claimed they had evil powers. How would he know if they did or didn't? Seemed everybody had some kind of magic these days. Except for him.
After a few more rounds of kicks, shoves, and one nasty moment involving saliva in places Sho really didn't want it, the gang seemed to give up and move on to someone who had more to offer than a 20 dollar bill in his wallet.
Standing shakily once more, he hobbled not back in the direction he'd come from (his own apartment was just too far), but toward Aiba's as planned.
