Title: Book Learning
Characters: Maki, Misono
Location: New York Public Library (Stephen A. Schwarzman Building)
Week: Week 5, Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 pm
Rating: G
Warnings: Maki has manners and they're in a library, so no.
Misono had spent her Friday at work trying to figure out what had gone wrong over the full moon. She spent all of Saturday taking care of Yesung and Princess Fluffybutt and the apartment and thinking, thinking, thinking. Her conclusion, after all those hours, had been that she just didn't know. That could not be allowed to continue. She had to do better by her family than 'I don't know'. She had to be able to plan for the next moon and the next after that, and all the ones beyond.
The only answer, then, was to learn. And the only place to learn in New York, that Misono knew, was the library. Specifically the public library by Bryant park. The one with the big stone lions. She liked the lions a lot. After a brief stop at Momofuku's Milk bar for a cereal milk, Misono wandered up town. She walked so that she could think and plan and by the time she reached the Schwarzman building she'd come to several conclusions:
She needed to know more about her own innate powers. Something in her had faltered and failed and she needed to know both what and why.
She needed to know about the full moon. When they happened, how they happened, and what happened during them.
She needed the rules of dating. The updated version. That boy-dates-boy version. She had Aiba to think of and she was not going to fail him.
And potentially she'd need to know a bit more about Incubi than she'd been previously taught.
"Hello!" she greeted the lions, patting one on the head as she went up the steps. Her first stop had to be the catalogue room. She had to find what she wanted to find, first.
