Holy cow flist, Pirates of the Caribbean is soooo goooood. It's ridiculous how every time I don't watch it for a while I kind of forget that it's amazing. Like it kind of becomes "that movie I saw a crapton of times in theaters because I was only 13 and thought it was unbelievable." No, it really is unbelievable. That, or my 20-year-old brain is exactly the same as my 13-year-old brain. This is a distinct possibility.
I fail hard at this meme. But this will probably be a short catch-up, because I only have like two things to say about the four days I'm behind.
Day 14 - The Villain Who Scared You the Most
The Unnamed Thing in Midnight.
There's a lot that plays into this, I guess. Firstly there's the fact that you never find out what it is. Never. So it's pretty scary, from the perspective of the show, that the Doctor never has even a clue as to what happened. But also I have a lot of intense issues with losing the core of oneself, and for the Doctor, and for me, and possibly for everyone, that's most clearly expressed in losing the power to convey one's thoughts/feelings/etc. It's been a while since I watched this one so I don't remember if we're to believe that the Doctor just can't speak for himself or if he actually can't even think for himself, but either way it's just...I don't know, it really frightens me.
Honorable mentions to the stone angels, Blink!style, and also to the Vashta Nerada. Though I wasn't so much afraid of the Vashta Nerada as I was intrigued by the idea; the whole irrational-fear-of-the-dark-isn't-irrational-at-all concept struck me as pretty awesome. I'm super into the parts of Who that kinda make you go "pssh that's not true...probably..." But that's a lot of Who for me, so.
Day 15 - Favourite Who-Related Tumblr
I have a tumblr but I honestly don't really get it, so I'll just link you to Melissa because, ahaha, her personal tumblr is probably more Who-related than any of the specifically Who-related tumblrs.
Also she is awesome in photoshop.
Day 16 - Your Favourite Who-Related FanFic
The first Who fanfic I ever read was nylana's I believe, and I was completely enchanted. She writes beautifully and absolutely understands the characters and the emotions. I couldn't pick a favorite, so here's one at random: The Impossibility of Us.
And for kicks and giggles, another one of my first-read-fics and one of my favorite AUs: humansrsuperior's Through the Little Blue Gate.
Day 17 - A Piece of Who-Related FanArt

I'm sorry! I don't really keep up with fanart? I mean, I'm a complete slut for icons/picspams/wallpapers/whatever with actual pictures, but I literally don't have even a single piece of, like, hand-drawn Who art to share with you guys. Maybe if someone were to recommend some I would realize it's been a gaping hole in my life and I didn't even know?...
I'm experimenting with a new layout, so look out for that sometime before too long! Thrilled? I knew you would be! Also I've got an irl post (which is actually going to be the response to your Five Things About Me meme which I have not forgotten, Leah) waiting to be written, so that might happen later tonight.
