Status on a few things...

First - Studying: I finished Lesson 3 yesterday and started Lesson 4 (of 7) on Course 4 (of 5). I'm now on the last body system, then I'll be doing specialists and other stuff. I'm so excited that I'm so close. I am so glad I've been able to trudge through tough times and make so much progress. I can taste the end. It's almost here!

House Projects - Bathroom: I have taken down all the shelves and towel bars and stuff in the bathroom and spackled all the holes a couple of times (we have plaster on our walls so it takes a special kind). The next step is sanding down everything, then I can paint! Totally excited about that. Our bath has been kind of like living out of a suitcase for a few days because I've got all our stuff in baskets on the floor til the shelving goes back up. :)

House Projects - Kitchen: I'm still waiting for Tom to route and rip the edges for me on the two cabinet doors that I've sanded down. I will paint them after he's done that, then can hang them back up and start on the last one for the top. WooHoo!

House Projects - Basement: Nothin'. It's been too darn COLD down there all winter. So, things are partially organized still, but I think I'll be able to make some progress once it gets a little warmer.

Eating Healthy: I've gone back and forth. Tom and I both are so sick of blah meals with baked chicken and he with potatoes and me with frozen veggies. Blech! :P So, we've tried to experiment. And, we've also eaten out more because we need variety. I've tried to be good when we do that and get the salad instead of fries and haven't touched much soda in a while. Not sure what we're going to do with that. The fact that Tom won't touch any veggie besides potatoes makes it darn difficult to plan any sort of healthy meals. *sigh* This one's a constant struggle.

Exercising/Getting Active: I'm a complete failure on this one. I was doing the dancing in the living room to the tv's music for a while, but I felt like such an idiot that I haven't really gotten back to it. I'm going to buy an exercise dvd this weekend at WalMart and try to get up before Tom does and make that a routine. We'll see. I wish we could afford to get me a stand for my heavy punching bag. I love to whack at that thing, but our porch ceiling is WAY too unstable to hang something from it, so it's just sat dormant all these months. :( Let's hope I find an interesting video and take off with it.

Money stuff in general: I don't want to get my hopes up, but Tom came up with a brilliant plan to maximize the effect of the various amounts of money we'll have coming in within the next couple of weeks. We're going to try to pay off the car. If we can do that, we will have an extra $400 a month *immediately* that we can use toward bills and saving that we haven't had in forever. That, combined with my medical transcription stuff that I'm hoping to finish with in the next few months, should put us back on the map. It will definitely be nice to eat a nice restaurant and go to movies again. God, it feels like it's been forever!

Okay, that's it. Gotta' get started with studying for today.

Have a great day, Everyone! Love to family!
