I've had a dilemma since I got my *wonderful* breadmaking machine, which is this: Fresh bread is absolutely yummy, but it's slightly bland if you don't put anything on top of it. So. Since I'm supposed to be lowering my cholesterol, I searched high and low for some sort of margerine/spread/butter-thingy, and came up with something by Promise Activ that tastes *delicious* and supposedly helps reduce cholesterol. Hmmm... Yeah, I'm suspicious, too. But, I didn't have any better options, so I have been using this tiny tub that costs a bazillion dollars (like $4 for this tiny container) in hopes that I wasn't cheating my diet by using it. That tub is almost gone, so I'm coming upon a decision point. Do I stick to something that says it's helping but may actually only be not so bad but not so good, either?
Well, just now, when I took my (ultra yummy! wow, you've got to try this!) wheat bread (I mixed in mashed bananas and some coconut - num, num, num), I had an epiphany! It was weird. I was tasting the unbuttered bread, and I said to myself, "Applesauce would be really good on this!" So, that's what I did. Applesauce on wheat bread. Yummiest yum, yum stuff I've had on this otherwise !#@%^&*ing diet. :)
So, if you're into new experiences, give it a try. Very yumbly. :)
