A Minor Milestone

Nov 21, 2011 17:17

I was going through some old recipes and stacks of food booklets today and happened upon my Weight Watchers tracking book from when I joined back in 2007 (when I was still working), and I made an interesting discovery:

I weigh the same now (and maybe even a pound or two less) than I did then.

Whoa!

Okay, for some, that may be confusing: "What? You're excited that you weigh the same as when you STARTED Weight Watchers before?" Yeah. See, this means that I am at the same Oops, I got married and am really happy and have put on a few pounds point instead of the I'm too stressed to work and have started a bajillion new medications that all seem to have the side effect of weight gain and I'm depressed and miserable point I was at when this year (2011) started.

I will admit that a LOT of it is due to (yet another) medication that I started around that time (for ADD), BUT I have also ramped up my activity level by a jillion times and have been steadily eating less and eating healthier and making better choices.

I don't think that it's quite hit me yet that I need to start looking at my body from a new angle now. I am no longer ridiculously overweight for my size - I'm more like "pleasantly plump". Which sounds so much more fun, yes? :)

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about it. This basically means that I have lost almost 35 pounds THIS YEAR. Whoa. Now, I just need to stay on track. Help me out, Thanksgiving, and not have tons of delicious desserts to choose from, k? :)
