WooHoo!

Found out this morning that they want me to come back! Yayayayayayay! :):):):)

It may only be for another few weeks' stint, but everything helps! And, it's terrific experience. They are currently running about a month behind on the transcription work, so they're asking me to do as much as I can handle to help them catch up as quickly as possible. Hot Dog!

Thank you, again, Jan, for telling L. about me! And, thank you, L. (if you ever read this), for mentioning me as a possible fill-in. You guys are awesome! And, you've made my life awesomer. :)

The supervisor said that everyone has been very happy with my work (yay!), and she has made a point of thanking me for my efforts on a few mini-emergencies we've had. She really seems like a great person to have as a boss, and I've developed (I think/hope) a good working relationship (including starting to understand their voices and phrasing, as well as in person) with all the doctors. And, I have learned a TON since I've been here.

They are right on some of the med trans websites when they say there's no substitute for real-life transcribing. BUT, and this is a big deal I think... the way *I* approached my training, being extremely thorough and having high standards for myself throughout the process, has made it a much easier transition. The general knowledge base and ability was there on day one; I just had to get used to their voices, do some early research and use past reports as references on phrasing and procedures. And, of course, I need practice doing them real-time so my speed will increase.

Everything really has kind of fallen into place to make this the best possible first job in the field I could have asked for. I know in my heart this was a God thing. And, I'm so thankful to Jan and L. and for this office for giving me a shot. I'm actually enjoying the work more than I thought I would! And, it makes me feel good to do a good job. Isn't life neat sometimes? :)

Love ya', Jan! Thanks, Everybody!

p.s. Sorry I didn't cut this - I don't have the code here. :) Have a great weekend, Everyone! :)
