We are experiencing a temporary delay...

My studying computer decided to die a few days ago. I got the "blue screen of death" three times in a row when trying to boot up. I didn't have an immediate panic attack because, by some crazy chance (read: GOD), I happened to save my basic report templates to my thumb drive not two weeks ago, so I don't have to start *completely* from scratch to do my work. BUT, he said the operating system is probably toast, and it's iffy on getting my documents and other data off the hard drive. *sigh*

A few minor inconveniences like the laptop I'm going to try to use temporarily didn't have MS Office on it (Tom's been playing with Open Office stuff - free versions of the same thing), so Tom's having to do all that loading (so I can use my MS Word templates), as well as all the anti-virus and the various drivers and stuff. Poor guy. And, even if he's able to reload the operating system on the dead pc, I'll still have to tailor it to the way I want things to work again. Major pain. But, for some reason, I'm really not that upset. I don't know why. He's been amazingly patient about the whole thing and not complaining at all about having to do this. I know I didn't do anything to mess it up, so I'm not feeling guilt about it (for once!). It's just a delay. Oh, well. Life's not perfect - issues come up, ya' know?

I'm also not feeling great physically. Besides having female pains the last few days (more than usual b/c I'm not on the pill b/c they think the pill may influence my high triglycerides - got all that?), I also have done something to my neck. Not sure if it was while I was asleep or what, but it hurts to turn it or lean it certain ways. Just hugging Tom is a precarious endeavor today. *sigh* So, since I don't have my computer anyway, I'm going to take it easy today and lie on the couch with the heating pad alternately on my neck and my abdomen. Joy. :)

So, I may not be able to check this regularly (I'm on Tom's pc now), but I'm trying to keep up with friends' stuff at least a little bit. Hope all are well. Love to family!
