I really liked this! I'm a big fan of violent sex Rayne with the undercurrent of emotion, even when it's emotion they're denying. The build up to when they finally do sex was taunt and tense and awesome, and they alley sex...YUM! It was balanced perfectly with the bathhouse sex, a slower, sweeter promise to each other.

Oooh. I am such a fan of this piece. The combination of violence and soft moments was excellent. The progression from a game to something more was definitely a thing I could see happening betwen them.

Hot! I love the slow build up and that they both meet each others needs in a very nontraditional way but still meet each others needs (did that make sense?) They honestly are so perfect for each other it's just insane. Great fic. :)

It made perfect sense to me. I probably shouldn't have listened to that video so many times because the more I listened the worse they started treating each other and the hotter it got. Haha!

Excellent work! I found the mixture of sex and combat 'play' very believable, especially as both River and Jayne wondered how far the other wanted to take things at various points, while still observing the rule of taking turns with initiating the next bout.

Thanks for reading. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I think the turn taking part of it was very important because even why they were breaking all sorts of the usual rules they were still following their own code.

Holy tamole! That was definitely grade A Rayne smut, being_lola_star! I mean, I read some humdinger efforts where River and Jayne use sparring or fight as foreplay, but an escalating game of cat and mouse leading to some down 'n' dirty back-alley sex?! But this story? I think you've broken a mould or two for this piece of awesome :D

Have to say though, I am kinda on the fence between being surprised Inara was just as flabbergasted as the rest of the crew at River and Jayne pairing up the way they did, and thinking it a realistic plot point. Inara's got all kinds of training into the human mind and sexuality and interpersonal relationships, but her lack of comprehension works for a situation like this...

I wasn't sure of Inara's reaction myself but I can't see her being able to separate the playing from violence. Though she does have the sensual aspect, I can't see her ever having experienced violence as a part of foreplay past more than a little light anything. Companions are sort of sheltered in my mind, they've got classy clients with "morals" and "standards" and never have to do anything they aren't comfortable with. As much as they experiment they also are there to sort of give the perfect girlfriend experience. She even had trouble seeing the romance behind Mal's sword fight for her ( ... )
