Summer pictures

I still haven't gotten around to tagging or captioning these pictures (and more) in my gallery, and I also realized that I haven't actually posted a picspam of the last bit of summer yet, either. So... here we go--some pictures of August, mostly more weddings.

Colin's brother Devin and his wife Lori dancing at their reception. I don't have any pictures from the ceremony, but they were a beautiful couple, and it was a beautiful, if very simple, wedding.

This was Colin's other date for the wedding. He was filming the day, along with a colleague (the guy at the other camera in the background), so he was pretty busy all day, and I just tagged along. At the reception, I got a bit more of his time, but still not a whole lot, since there were still things to be filmed, like the speeches, the first dance, and the cake-cutting.

We did manage to be in the same place long enough to get a picture or two taken, though...

Colin's youngest brother, Jay, and his girlfriend Jillian at Devin and Lori's gift opening the next day.

Lori wrapping Devin--she figured that because she had to wear the bows at her showers, he had to wear them at the gift opening!

Lori and her pet poodle of a husband opening more gifts.

We had one more wedding to attend this summer--this was just a few days before we left for California, and it was the wedding of one of my closest childhood friends. Those ones are always fun as a reunion of sorts. I got to see a lot of people whom I hadn't seen in a long time, and we were at the same table as Kat and Aaron, so that was a lot of fun. And at this wedding, we actually made it out onto the dance floor, which doesn't always happen for one reason or another.

Getting hugs from Jakob after the ceremony. The kids weren't at the reception, but they were excited to see us at the ceremony--Jakob was especially excited to see his Uncle Colin, whom he hadn't seen since Easter!

The family picture, summer 2008 edition. This shows why I'm going to wear flats or kitten heels at my wedding--with 4-inch heels, I'm still shorter than Colin, but not by much! I like having more of a height difference, so when I'm wearing a wedding dress and you can't see my feet anyway, I'll wear something that doesn't make me as tall. As you can see, Esther and Justin have never had that problem. Neither have my mom and dad, but theirs is the opposite way.

My brother-in-law took this picture mid-conversation, and there's at least one of me in mid-word. He made a crack about having to wait until my mouth wasn't moving, and it taking a long time... or something like that. I like this picture of us, though.

say cheese, family, kids, someone's getting married
