Ok, I told you I would tell you about the radio show that I heard on the way home from Wilmington. I just know you are all dying to hear it, just kidding. Well I was flipping through the channels on the radio because obviously I couldn't pick up Fayetteville stations yet. I heard this talk show, normally I switch them and listen to music, but something caught my attention. The more I listened the more attention was put into the show. There was this sixteen year old boy from a military academy on the show and the talk show host was talking to him about something that had happened recently. Apparently this boy and four of his friends from the academy went to an Ashlee Simpson autograph session in their uniforms. They decided that since they were wearing thier military uniform, they had the right to skip in line or what he called "securing a place in line". They skipped all of these people and they thought that they had the right because they were wearing a military uniform. This is where it really caught my attention. Apparently, the security guard asked them to step out of line and move to the back where they should have gone to begin with, and he told the security guy he wasn't moving. So then the security guard grabbed him, and the sixteen year old military school student decided that "no man in a yellow windbreaker is going to put his hands on me" direct quote. So he pushes him, someone kicked him, and while all of this is going on a girl was knocked to the ground and hit her head on the curb causing her to have a concussion. Now this boy claims that it was the security guards fault because he had no right to put his hands on him.
The best part is yet to come. The boy claims that he was in line not just to get an autograph but so Ashlee Simpson could know that they were going to be the ones fighting for her safety and freedom. He said, "She would appreciate more seeing a guy in military uniform than somebody's little sister." Isn't that great. Then he said that when he's over in Iraq fighting for the US he would much rather think of Ashlee Simpson and that gives him a reason to fight, if he thought of someone like her sister he would much rather "surrender to the Iraqies". Then they took some phone calls but this was about the time it started breaking up so I didn't get a full number to call. I would have. Well, a man who is in the military called in to tell the boy that if he ever planned on being in the military he had a lot of growing up to do and that when they go oversees they are fighting for the United States and the freedom of everyone not just the Ashlee Simpsons of the world. The response to this from the boy was "wouldn't you rather go over there fighting for a pretty girl" oh that pissed me off. This was a very interesting show to listen to, then it broke up and I couldn't hear anything. I wanted to turn the car around and head the other direction so I could hear the rest, but it was already ten something at night. Well that was it, I'm sure you will all find it interesting too. I thought it was highly annoying and ignorant. This boy wants to serve for our country some day, he isn't the one I want over there fighting for me. Maybe I'm not pretty enough for him. LOL.
