Ballad? (Part Two)

May 18, 2005 17:51

With eyes wide and ready
My heart grows heavy;
I peer into her deep red eyes;
They overwhelm my candle's light.
She wisps her claw into the air;
My courage here no longer there.
It once was good, but for the best
I feel her rip right through my chest.
Out gushes blood and quite a clatter
I scream with might, yet growing sadder.
End this misery, oh, would you please;
Now I'm begging on my knees.
Strike me again you wicked devil.
Don't throw me one, I'd rather several.
Give me my passage into hell;
No longer an Angel, nor you as well.
I shall meet you at the gates
Shall he judge--the man who waits.
He well tell me where to go--
To a place where hate cannot be shown.
If you must come, then you must swear
That you will love all who's there.
