On his way back to his their McCoy's room, of course, he had to pass through sickbay. But McCoy was no where to be seen--where was anyone's guess, and while refreshed from his nap, there was a lot on Kirk's mind that he was hoping not to actually address anytime soon. He had his own way of dealing with that, though, and McCoy's presence would either force it into his consciousness or force it out. He preferred to let it linger a little, let himself work things out subconsciously. It was his process, and he liked it. It worked.

McCoy wasn't around, but Chapel was. And he wondered what M'Benga had done, though he wasn't about to ask. Still, he couldn't help but smile slightly as he passed.

"You okay?" he asked, keeping his distance.
