Firestorm.

Firestorm.

Tonight nearly marked the end.

It was so hot, with all the embers crashing around us it felt like hell had fallen upon earth. The breaths I took burned and made me gasp for actual air, but there was nothing but a hot crude smoke.

It all started sitting in the local area, when my friend and I looked to the east to see a plume of smoke stretching across the sky. Bored and curious, we went to look. We stood about a mile away at first. A construction site. Then we started walking towards it. Why? In 10 years from now, looking back, I would want to say I walked into hell and made it out alive.

The wind blew to our left, so we were safe. We ran past abandon construction zones, tractors, and other equipment.

We were about 50 yards away when I took this:

The direction of wind started to change, sending red hot embers crashing down around us. We retreated back about 50 yards more to a series of trucks. The fire burned nearly 180* around us.

Took this from behind a water truck that was left there:

And then all hell broke loose. We turned around to rest for a second and there's a huge tank right behind us that reads: "Danger! Flammable!" Then, as we turn to look into the beast, all grows dark. Mind you it was already night time, so to get darker after that was strange. The wind had shifted. It was coming right for us. The fire and security trucks were bailing out, and the few other bystanders that were there ran, but we stayed. Embers were falling and flying past us, at us, around us. Unexpectedly a blast of hot wind took us out. It was like standing behind a jet firing its afterburners. We ran... we ran, through all the dips and hills and bumps and my friend fell and we ran some more.

And thats my story.

Im alive, and I have the proof that it happened.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have ash to wash out of my hair, and black shit to wipe off my face. Not to mention I have to cough out some burnt up trees.
