Like all holidays in America, Thanksgiving is really nothing more than an excuse to gather with the family. Its meaning is a complete mockery. Does anyone know any Native Americans celebrating thanksgiving? What about those who have nothing to give thanks for? Like the poor. Thanksgiving really is nothing more than an elitist holiday. I mean, there are always the kind-hearted people who take this day to help those less fortunate, but for the most part, the people who celebrate it are greedy bastards, who wouldnt help another human being if their life depended on it. The only reason I am even celebrating this holiday is because of the family aspect. My grandmother needs us, and Im not going to be an asshole, and stand by my shitty two-bit beliefs when she's in a time of need. Its too bad more people cant put their convictions aside every once in a while. I dont absolutely hate the holiday, or any holiday. I just hate particular things about it. The history of thanksgiving is the thing that aggrivates me the most. Its like, we came here, had a peaceful feast with the natives, then wiped them out, and from every other thanksgiving on, said "Thank God we arent them" Anywho, I dont mean to complain. Happy thanksgiving
