Its been raining non-stop for 2 days now... we've been bombed 3 days in a row... n' well, things just seem to be gettin worse. The Iraqi elections are finally here... which means its been total anarchy. Our battallion is forming a Infantry Unit that will be sent to do guard duty at the elections. They've asked five people from our company if they wanted to join since they qualify.... I was one of them. I was told they need good riflemen, since Im a 2nd award high qual expert, they asked if I wanted to join the unit. To be honest... I think I might do it. Reason being... I dont have a girl or child I have to go home too like other Marines that do. Why make them extend n risk the chance of being killed, when I can take the duty for them. I only have my parents to worry about... they have wives, kids, parents n' so much more to lose.... HONOR, COURAGE AND COMMITMENT! Thats what I live by....
