Put a Book down and Pick up another

Spoilers for Mogworld may lay a'head ye be warned.

So I finally finished reading Mogworld written by Yahtzee Crosshaw (Zero Punctuation.
And I absolutely loved it. It had all the humour and cynicism one would expect from the creator of Zero Punctuation. But it was also so much more brilliantly written than I had expected.

I was half expecting to be disappointed as a fan of Zero Punctuation I felt that maybe I was placing great expectations on Mogworld. However I'm happy to have been proved wrong.
Brilliantly written, creative and very humerus.

Mogworld follows the exploits of Jim a recently resurrected zombie on his quest to find a way to die permanently. In his company for most the journey is Meryl another zombie and Thaddeus also a zombie but one which is in denial and refuses to believe that he is just as 'unholy' as Jim and Meryl. And and inept adventurer named SlipepryJohn who always talks in third person.

Against them are for the most part Barry a priest who receives some ungodly powers in order to do the bidding of the almighty LORD Si-Mon, and Mr Wonderful, who is a wonderfully psychotic employee of the adventurer's guild with a penchant for strange insults and playing with knives.

Ultimately I think the cast is very imaginative and well written. They are all strong characters who I think stand up well on their own.

The story itself starts off sort of slow, but is well written and humerus, filled with the kind of humour one who watches Zero Punctuation should have come to expect from Yahtzee.

Its a great book, especially for those with rather dry senses of humour. I was sceptical at first but was glad that the book didn't disappoint. This is the first book written by Yahtzee and I certainly hope its's not the last.

Now onwards and upwards. Or so they say.
Now that I've finished Mogworld I must move onto something else. I love reading you see.

So I've decided to embark on reading the Chronicles of Narnia next. I loved the movies (and can't wait to see voyage of the dawn treader), but to my own shame I have not read a single one of them and decided that its about time that I did, So I purchased The Chronicles of Narnia as an all included volume. I have all seven books rolled into a single volume so I don't have to worry about buying each one as I finish, its already there for me! And in chronological order to boot (as one would or should expect).

I only hope I wont be disappointed, but as fantasy stories similar or like these are my favourites filled with magic and intrigue I doubt I'll be disappointed. However one things for sure its going to take me a damn long time to finish it! (fyi I'm a reaaaly slow reader as it is)

Well thats all for now.
