She really, really likes me & would be sad if I didn't.

I talked to my English teacher Mr Maa today (he's one of the smartest people I know) & he said I will regret the risks I didn't take more than the ones I did take...

I was actually going to comment with exactly what Mr. Maa said. Even the possible bad things that could result may not even happen. And if they do, they are reparable.
