Breaking and falling

Hey all!

I had a whole fifteen minutes last night to clean the litter box and take out the garbage, and this made me stupidly happy to be able to finally get done.

I'm having a pretty happy day so far considering that I've been obscenely tired.
The bus ride/jump on the skytrain/bus ride to work is extremely calming in the morning, and my transfers usually connect very well. The view on the ride here is nice, and the trees and plants are starting to explode with buds and flora and foliage.

I'm having a bit of wonderment at the fact that I am currently getting paid to play with spreadsheets and do math all day. I enjoy both quite a bit. Ironically most of the math I'm doing is geometry, fractions, and converting; formerly some of my least favorite forms of mathematics. But still it's fun. :)

I'm thinking of getting a long weekend off (and then some) and going to maybe Harrison Hot Springs with Saeok, or someplace nice for a get-away. Any suggestions?

In Aikido last night Sensei had us doing a lot of throws that involved either rolling out of them, or breakfalling (going hips over head, and slamming down hard on your side).
I opted for mostly breakfalls, since I need the practice and I'm just starting to learn them.
Sensei came by our group and used me to demonstrate a technique to another student. He pointed for me to strike at his head, and I struck hard, knowing that the harder the strike, the harder the throw. Well, I broke, and I fell, but I didn't exactly breakfall...

I was fine, I just didn't land sideways enough and thuded.

I then got an apology and a talk from Sensei about telling him if I want to roll out of a throw instead of making him guess. I kinda felt bad after that. I only nodded in agreement, and after realized I should have maybe mentioned that my intention was a breakfall. It's no fun to think you hurt someone in class.

I hope everyone is doing well!
