So lately I've been having trouble finding good fic I haven't already read. I'm convinced there has to be some out there...it's just eluding me. Since the weekend has finally arrived (and I'm actually off from work for this one) I thought I'd use you ask you to participate in a low-maintenance, mini-Rec Fest.
Basically, just post 3-5 fics you've read semi-recently* that you really enjoyed. Any fandom, pairing, length, rating, etc. Even if it's not one of MY fandoms/pairings, it may be someone else's on my f-list. And I'm all about providing fic access for all.
So anywho, share away. Check out other people's recs. Talk amongst yourselves. Whatever. Let's spread some fic love! (Also, I went ahead and made the post public, so feel free to send random people I may not even know this direction if you feel so inclined.)
To start:
We Know How It Works (The World Is No Longer Mysterious) by Pistol - The Losers, Cougar/Jensen, R, ~85,000 words - Cougar keeps popping up next to Jensen after that. And much like Jensen’s sudden influx of facial hair, Jensen decides to keep him.
Cosmic Sandwich by Tabi - Inception, Arthur/Eames, PG-13, ~7,700 words - A compound accidentally gets Arthur really, really, really high, and he's hilarious.
In Duty Homeward Shall We Fly by toomuchplor - Inception/3rd Rock From the Sun, Arthur/Eames, PG-13, ~4,000 words - Arthur had been on this planet for nearly fourteen years now and everyone still insisted on treating him like a child.
Tomorrow Belongs to Me by valtyr - Marvel Cinematic Universe, Steve/Tony, NC-17, ~87,200 words - Steve wakes up in the 21st Century. He doesn't think much of it, and it's dubious about him. He meets a Norse God, joins a superhero team, and feels terribly awkward about the whole momument at Arlington he's rendered obsolete by not being dead. Meanwhile, Tony is trying to make his mark on history by being the man who finally drove Nick Fury over the edge.
War Games by seperis - Star Trek (2009), NC-17, ~109,000 words - The Federation and the Romulan Empire have been on the verge of war for what sometimes feels like forever; this is the place where what passes for peace might end.
* - Fic doesn't necessarily need to have been recently written. It can be an old fic that you just recently discovered. Or even an old fic that you just recently re-read.
