Did anyone else cry a little that it was the last episode of the season?
WARNING: The following review was written while under the influence of hardcore cold medicine. It comes with no guarantees of coherency.
Favorite Parts:
+ "Allow me to introduce yourself..." (Is it sad that the woman I most wanted to see Shawn hook up with was that waitress who had like a minute of screen time?)
+ "Who are you calling? Juliet? That routine is as tired as the waitress bit."
+ "My father's name was Mary, his father before him was named Mary and his father before him was named Craig."
+ Protective!Henry *hugs*
+ "I'm not 27 anymore, I can do whatever I want."
+ Shawn pulling out his "badge"
+ Shawn's explanation for humor in "inappropriate" situations (and then recruiting Gus's help...)
+ "Dr. Dolittle? I know you can do better than that Lassiter. I know you can." (paired with Lassiter's look)
+ Shawn's freakout in the Psych office
+ Lassie and his Civil War geekery (*has a history!kink*)
+ Gus in the backseat on the date (Would you trust Shawn to borrow your car for a date at the Drive-In?)
+ The Psych-out (
the complete psych-out on the website is even funnier because BUZZ is included and Lassiter says "What in the name of Sweet Baby Buddha" :) I heart Tim Omundson.
What Really Got Me to Love This Episode:
It was intense. Like whoa. And Roday was amazing in his intensity. And I loved that they made it intense, but the humor was still there as well.
Gus was cracking me up this whole episode as well. I loved how hard he tried to ease the tension. He's really grown on me the past few episodes (not that I hated him before...just never really paid much attention).
And I really REALLY hope they bring back Mary Lightly...cuz I kind of heart him. A lot. And I like that he wanted to work with Shawn and wasn't all "I refuse to work with this person".
(--If you ship Shawn/Abigail or Shawn/Juliet...you may not want to read past this point...--)
The only thing that really bothered me was the ending. It was just...anticlimactic, I think. They catch a serial killer and then his date shows up? Okay, to be fair, I don't much care for Abigail. But still. And then Juliet? *sigh* (I think Gus said it best earlier in the episode...)
The scene wasn't terrible, in fact I think it was the best Shules scene of the season, but I think the push-pull of that never-quite-relationship is getting tiring (in my opinion anyway). Though I did admire that Juliet let him go. She knew it was her own fault for pushing him away so many times, and she didn't hold it against him. It's why I like Juliet as a character, if not so much as a love interest for Shawn. (Because, honestly? I think she's a better match for Gus...)
Now I just have to figure out what to do with myself until July...
