Several reflections on today:
1) the fact that u have to say u r flexible shows to me that actually u r not flexible.
2) a briefing is not a meeting. It is BRIEF and highlights the main points. It might even be a motivating start to the day, but it's wishful thinking in this dept.
3) need to stop running around aimlessly and make the most effective use of time. Be more on top of things.
Edit on 28 April 2013: This post was written when I was in Housekeeping. It's such a negative place. People are constantly covering their asses and being very defensive, to the point where a simple question can cause someone to flare up and/or raise their voice. Desmond wants to follow the SOP, while the way things are done is to follow their own way of doing things. It's not easy to evoke change, and change cannot be made by one person, forcefully or otherwise, especially in Housekeeping. Since you are requesting something of people, say it nicely and people will agree. If they don't, sit them down and ask why they don't. Why treat them as if they were in the army and expect all of them to just follow instructions without asking questions? No one will follow such a leader; as it is now, no one gives a shit about what Desmond says.
