First, B&N is having a massive sale, and Amazon is price matching, so if you see something you're interested in you can get it for Kindle for the same price. Sorry, Kobo users. I do not understand how their sales work.
Second, I am mad I ran out of time to do this post this morning, because I wanted to share this article on a new imprint that's going to be republishing old YA. My mind instantly went to the Sunfire novels as a thing I would dearly love to see republished, and also the Meg mysteries that my mom read when she was growing up. What about all of you? Anything that you want a copy of that doesn't exist anymore? MAYBE WE CAN GET THE UNGETTABLE MADELEINE L'ENGLE BOOK THIS WAY.
What I really want is this old dime store novel called the Silver Seven about a girl who moved from Madison to the northwoods and ended up doing figure skating on a mill pond.
THE B&N/AMAZON THING DOESN'T EVEN WORK, I HATE EVERYTHING D: I can't buy B&N books and read them on a Kindle, right? A Wrinkle in Time isn't even on .com or .ca Kindle stores. Amazon hates its non-US users :( And I just want to love them so!!
I don't use B&N, but do they have an app like amazon does? Maybe you could buy them and read them on your computer? I'm positive you could alter the files to mobi with calibre, too, and put them on your kindle that way.
That was a super good idea and I tried to do it, but B&N.com will only sell to people with US credit cards. I don't get it! DON'T THEY WANT TO SELL STUFF? But thanks for helping, you're a dear :)
Right now, I'm finding it particularly hilarious that breaking DRM is illegal. Like, it would actually be easier to pirate a book than to buy it and then convert it to the format I want.
AHHHH. I hate how geographically restricted ebooks are. COME ON, AMAZON. SHE IS TRYING TO GIVE YOU MONEY! DON'T YOU WANT HER MONEY?
Anyway, you can read B&N books on a Kindle, but it's a little complicated and technically illegal! You need to download calibre and then you need a plug in for stripping DRM. Here's one post about it.
Annnnnd now I see your comment that B&N doesn't want your money either, but I'm posting this comment because you might need to this info for putting .com books on a .ca Kindle.

I really don't remember enough details of many, sigh. If only I had a GoodReads when I was a kid . . .
OOOH. That sound familiar. (As in, I've heard about it, not I magically have my hands on it!)

HMMMM. I'm trying to think of what I want a copy of that doesn't exist anymore. I KNOW THERE ARE THINGS. I will have to think on this.
