In case you missed it, we will be reading How I Created My Perfect Prom Date by Todd Strasser this month. It also goes by the title Girl Gives Birth to Own Prom Date. It is currently on sale for Kindle for 99 cents. If that's of any interest to anyone.

And with that out of the way, it's all yours!

I haven't read a whole lot this week. I finished The Amber Spyglass and reread The Moon By Night (spoiler: I still hate Zachary Gray), and I read a new book, All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin. I was pretty into it. It's a near future dystopia, set in a New York City where there are shortages and rationing and where chocolate and caffeine are illegal. The main character is Anya, who is the orphaned daughter of a mobster and his wife who was killed in a hit meant for her husband. She's trying to take care of her whole family and stay as far away from the family business as she can without getting killed and then she gets involved with the new D.A's son and this book was really just a set up for the rest of them where she's going to embrace her rightful place in the family business ( ... )

I liked the less dystopian dystopia aspect of it,

OOOH. This is intrigues me. I wants books where the dystopian is . . . more of the setting than the plot, if that makes sense? I've seen some about this book, but it's so hard to keep track of the dystopians, LOL.

And I just bought Elsewhere by the author at a Borders closing sale!

The dystopia is definitely more the setting in this book. The plot is more related to circumstances as a result of the setting with a healthy dose of Romeo & Juliet thrown in for good measure. You should try it.

I'm really curious about her other books now. I'd never heard of her.
