Summary: The first time Gaius meets Uther Pendragon, Uther is a petty lord with a small estate who wants to ensnare Gaius in his webs of intrigue.
Notes: I'm hoping to do a whole series of fics with the first generation characters, leading up to the Great Purge and Arthur's birth; however, I do not know exactly when I'll have the time to write all of it, so I decided to make each part a sort of mini-fic. Therefore, this can be read as a stand alone fic as well. Um, I also do not know Old English--I arrived at the few words I've used through an online translation tool and may not be using them correctly. Finally, a thousand thanks to vesperdivum for being such a wonderful beta!
