Like so many others on Midchilda, he was watching the scene in the air with tension lining every fiber of his body. Unlike many others, he had an in-depth view on the combattants- at least on the Time-Space Administration's side- that nearly put the Administration's own monitors to shame. Blue eyes flitted restlessly from screen to screen, taking ( Read more... )

"Damn!" cursed Verossa down the link to Liam, flinging a hand out to destroy a robot with slightly more force than was necessary. He'd hoped and prayed that nothing would happen to her, kept tabs on her during her recovery and safeguarded as much as he could against side effects. He'd made sure that the doctors that would do the most good were there to help her, only for this to happen?

I'm a little busy at the moment. he said, casting a sideways glance to Sister Schach. And I have company that can't be shaken. Because Schach would niggle away at him if he showed signs of inconsistency, and Verossa was so damned useful, and still had plenty of time left in him. He didn't want to be exposed like this, and relaly, there was no need.

Someone should catch her, he said, hoping that that was the case. Nobody would let their precious Ace fall far.

I can do it if things are getting that desperate- it seems like the administration crew hasn't quite noticed it, not with Yagami blowing things to pieces, Liam offered back. To be honest, he still hated sitting back on his haunches when things were going to shit, when he could do something. I know the risks in that, but my exposure is a small price to pay in exchange for- well. There were still targets that Takamachi would have taken out had she been capable, but she had fallen at the worst possible moment, and there was precious little time to spare if he was going to get there in time to grab her and prevent her from meeting with the ground in an extremely unfortunate and lethal way- even mages were subject to gravity when they couldn't keep in the air.

"Pandora?" Liam asked of his device, getting an affirmative from the decidedly female voice. He smiled thinly, ready to call the device into activity as needed.

Go, said Verossa bluntly. I'll join you later. Finishing up here might take some time, but if he released a single limiter... no. He could do it a lot easier. He found Fate standing with Schach via his hounds and listened in absently on their conversation as his dogs showed them the way deeper in. They didn't appear to know about Nanoha yet. Good. He'd keep it that way if he could.

He sped his way deeper in, looking for the cyborg he'd pegged as being in control down here. He had no doubt there'd be a different mastermind for the Cradle.

I'll be there in a few moments! Liam offered back, letting loose on the activation of his device, with a single-word reply from Pandora. A red haze surrounded him for a moment before he kicked into the air, spiraling out through the secret passageways he had long since memorized, deceptively simple staff in one hand. "Faster, Pandora," he muttered under his breath, releasing one of a series of limiters- it was one that was intended to make him seem entirely unmagical to all but the most thorough investigations, and that level would be of no use if he wanted to get there in time.

It didn't take him long to get to the action and carefully deliver the Administration mage to the waiting medical staff, utilizing teleportation magic. I'll take over for Takamachi- there is no way I'm going to let that kid stay in their hands for long, Liam offered, kicking into the air and dodging around gadget drones and aerial mages alike. He had one target in mind- the Cradle.
