Guess who totally has not been paying attention to his SFCprominence_glowJanuary 9 2011, 14:14:37 UTC
[Covered in sweat, Lea has to say he's feeling pretty good. With what happened to his shoulder, he still can't do complicated tricks; a shame, considering how much he wants to wallride. Nonetheless, just racing through the streets on A-T... Great feeling. So he's on a natural high as he practically bounces back to the apartment, skates slung over his uninjured shoulder.
He abruptly pauses when he sees the groceries scattered outside, the SFC, the open door. His heart stops for a moment, and he thinks of the dangerous people Luka told him about, Muraki and Alpha, and he wonders if something happened to Isa or Ven.
With a silent stealth most people probably don't know he has, he slips over to the doorway, careful as he peers in. Nothing but... Frowning, he steps out from his hiding place.]
Isa?
[In seconds, he's by the couch, hands feeling and touching everywhere; he's a hands on person, after all. Fingers go through blue hair, pass over shoulders, hands-]
What's wrong? Isa? Are you okay? Did something happen?
[The hands of his best friend are surprisingly soothing after what he watched. He can't help but smile a little, even if his heart isn't in it. He appreciates the gesture, he really does.]
On the SFC. There... Was something broadcast. It... It really shook me...
[Luka's words echo in his mind even as Lea's heart freezes in his chest.]
...I'd never let anything like that happen to you.
[Ignoring the fact that he's practically right on top of him, he tugs Isa close, hugging him tightly. His mind briefly flickers to the weapons he now has, hidden away from his friends.]
[Nothing like this had ever happened in the Garden. It was all taking place in other cities, beyond their laketop paradise. So he clings to his friend, letting the tears he's been holding in fall.]
[He just hugs him tighter, stroking his hair like he remembers his mom doing for him once.]
Just... Other worlds aren't like home. I don't know what they're like, but there's all sorts of people out there. We can't let our guard down, alright? And... And we gotta get stronger.
[He doesn't want to be sitting on the sidelines anymore, useless.]
[The action is soothing, and it helps just a bit. But Lea is right. Other worlds aren't like home. It's time to stop being so naive. Some people are just cruel, it seems. And they can't just sit there. He's not beating down strange creatures with a baseball bat anymore. Slowly, he pushes Lea away then goes to the bedroom. Flopping down on the floor, he reaches under the bed. In a few minutes, he's back in the main room, holding a rather large weapon: an intricate and stylized claymore.]
...Looks like it's not just for decoration. Ven got it for me, for my birthday. I thought it was just to look cool, but... Now I need to learn how to use it.
[There's a stupid little twist to his stomach when Isa pulls away; was he not enough? Does he just need time to himself? Lea is relieved when his friend comes back, but then his eyes are going wide again at the sight of the weapon.
Wow.
But, suddenly, he begins to laugh quietly, bending over on the couch and holding one hand to his forehead.]
Well, I heard about the weird stuff that happens here, some of it dangerous, and all the people...
[He looks up finally, running a hand through his hair.]
So I talked to this guy when he made this video with him in this weapon shop, so I asked and we checked it out, and there you go. I figured you'd call me stupid after the ship deal, so I kept 'em secret.

[It makes his stomach twist into knots just thinking about it, and now he's just plain sick talking about it...]

Your birthday? Damn... One upped again...

[It's actually pretty heavy, much heavier than his baseball bat. It'll take a lot of working out to actually swing it.]
And whaddya mean, "one upped?"

[Grinning, he stands on the couch.]
Those were high quality goods, I'll have you know! Those weren't dinky, they were works of art!

[He hops down, getting into a mock boxing stance, throws a few punches in the air.]
C'mon, put 'em up.

[It's a sad smile as he stands there, leaning the claymore against the wall.]
...Thanks for the sentiment.
