I am extremey crushed that i missed my best friend's wedding on 1st december.....
Luckily i will be back for my other bestie's wedding on 22nd dec...arriving in singapore on the 21st...hope my bridesmaid dress will fit cuz no time to alter!! And that i will get over my jetlag quickly...am actually looking forward to getting on the SQ plane...always feels like home once i see those kebaya clad girls and hear their singlish and see/smell the Straits Times.=)
Meanwhile i am getting used to living with someone and i really like it!!!
We have not had much time to really enjoy our house...we come home so late each night....but it really feels like home now, and so far no big quarrels *cross fingers*.
We have a sort of house rule, i plan the meals and do the cooking, unless he comes home earlier then he will start cooking with my instructions (like heat the rice, cut the meat blah blah). He does all the laundry and hangs it, we take turns to do the dishes (mostly he does it and our trusty dishwasher heehee). He also cleans most of the house. So basically i just do what i like, cooking! Good deal huh...hahaha
Planning meals for 2 for a whole week takes some imagination...i can't imagine planning meals for a family...think i would be out of ideas in 2 weeks. And cuz we come home so late, i try to cook a lot on sunday and put it in the fridge. This is my plan for this week:
Sunday dinner - Rumsteak with avocado salad, fried potatoes and mushroom
Monday - Pork chops with leftover salad, potatoes and mushroom of monday
Tuesday - Indian chicken and aubergine curry with rice
Wednesday - Eat leftovers of tuesday
Thursday - Fried 'mouse noodles' with cabbage and minced pork
Friday - leftovers if any/no idea/eat out
Been reading recipe books, trying to have more interesting yet easy to make meals....We spend about 80 euros each week on grocery/food...wondering if it is more than the average couple? I do not stinge on food at all...i buy all my meat from the butcher...fresh pork chops, fresh bacon and rumsteak (23euro/kg) is worth the price! And my new found vegetable seller gives me free herbs everytime i go...first time it was basil, and second time parseley. I like!
Meanwhile if anyone has any tried and tested recipes that keeps well in the fridge, let me know!
Vegetable guy...no i am not flirting with him to get free herbs!!
Living together has made me appreciate the little things that frenchie does for me...like how he hangs my pyjamas on the heater without me knowing so that after my shower my clothes are hot and toasty. Like how he puts cookies in my work bag to take to work, how he puts water on my bedside table before i go to sleep. I really appreciate it.
And on saturday, i awoke to see the house decorated for christmas! Ok no one is visiting for christmas, and i will be home anywyay, but it makes the house so cosy and warm.
It makes me wonder, does living together before marriage take away the excitement of marriage in the future? I would probably be less excited about living together as a married couple cuz there is no difference, besides a piece of wedding certificate, and perhaps living in our own house instead of a rented one. I hope the magic will still be there...when it happens..if it happens. Meanwhile, am enjoying playing wifey, although not a real wife =P
Christmas deco on the fireplace. Little statues of Jesus, Mary, Manger, sheep, etc on the table in front of the plant.
