I love Wheeljack, too. But, I'll be honest, though I never dissed Hot Rod, I really did not like him. Still don't in the cartoon (comics are a far cry different, though), but there's always a few that just nut you off, and he did it for me. Maybe if they hadn't have just slammed him in there for the movie, I might not have reacted so badly to him. I didn't react badly to Kup, though, which is weird because they pretty much did the same thing. But he did interact personally with a lot of the other 'bots. I noticed that Hot Rod didn't really do the same until much later in the series. It made him stick out a little too much for me. Eh. I'm probably just picky.

It's also why I didn't like Cheetor much in Beast Wars, either. Oh, I did in the beginning, but when he went Transmetal he just started to piss me off. A little too much like Hot Rod/Rodimus for me.

The best way to think of the 2007 movie is to treat it as another AU. There's a lot of them out there in the multiple comics. And though it wrenches my gut to say it, it's about Jazz kicked the bucket *ducks flying objects* Hey! My favourite boought it in the G1 movie in a stupid way we didn't even see. At least the Jazz-bot kicked it fighting bucket-head. That's cool! Though... such a shame. Jazz lasts all the way through everything, and then buys it when Michael Bay decided a 'bot had to die. Damn.

I know what you mean and yeah that is how i treated the movie cause Jazz can't die he is just... just well I don't know what he is but he is it :P
Personally all the new bots got my ire cause they killed off all my favourite characters I still kinda of watched it but I remember bawling my eyes out from the movie when I saw Wheeljack was dead... and Optimus and Prowl and Ratchet but mostly Wheeljack...

Never got into Beast Wars though I watched the start but it just didn't hook me in. That and the fact they kept changing where they were up to in the series just kept bugging me they would stop and start again at the beginning as if we wanted to see the start again

As for Beast wars I believe that was done during production I suppose.
Beast Wars was how I got started in Transformers. I loved it because it was all I knew. I'll admit it had it's issues but it was fun for me.
I love Dinobot and Megatron.
Just recently have i started watching G1 and Animated.
i really like wheeljack as well.

Yay! I forgot you were a Dinobot fan! *squees*

My main issue watching BW (though I love it and all its flaws to pieces) was that I kept comparing the characters to what G1 characters I thought they were most like. It bugged me how many parallels I could draw. Still does.

I cried for a week when Dinobot died the first time. And Megatron's rubber ducky cracked me up! And his "Yeeeeesssssss," thing. Lol. I can passably imitate Wazzpinator and Dinobot much to my friends chagrin.

I hadn't seen any other transformers so I just enjoyed it for what it was.. now when I look back on it... I laugh like a maniac....
I still cry when I watch code of a hero... My sister imitates Dinobot rather well and I manage to do a passable Megatron, Rattrap and Waspinator...

Overall I love Transformers for being diffrent...I can only ever compare it to it's other incarnations unlike other anime which I can compare to just about any other anime...
I enjoy most of it's incarnations save for the few I haven't seen...

ha, I kinda stopped watching when the movie came out cause I was really upset when it happened apparently I always cried after it happened when there was no Optimus or Wheeljack whenever I watched the stuff after it *blushes* my mum forbade me to watch it at least thats what she told me but I don't even remember that happening...

But I do haveta agree with you in that respect now that I have though about it. At least Jazz went out in a cool way, fighting, we didn't even see Wheeljack's demise, just his sparking corpse.
