Ohio has a ton of snow. Everywhere. snow. I am so not used to this.

Goodness, is it raining back home or what? I was going down PCH toward LAX at 6 AM yesterday with my dad, and they had already blocked off parts of the road because of the flooding. That was some rain, dudes. So anyway, we get to the airport and as I'm about to go in the gate (this is the metal detector "take off your shoes and belt and we're gonna feel you up for weapons" part), my dad gets some pass to come with me to the terminal because I'm an unaccompanied minor. He got some coffee and we waited.. and waited... the plane was a little late, at this point not a big deal. I sat next to a nice filipino boy named Henry (I think); he was 22 or something and in the Navy. He told me to never believe those glorifying commercials, and I trust him on that. We land in Atlanta in about 4 hours (it was enough time to finish The Incredible Lightness of Being, Alvin) 40 minutes late. Henry and I both have 20 minutes until our next flights (he was going to Virginia). Time to hustle. To make an even longer story short, I did not make it. The flight was scheduled for 4:57 pm, but i got there at literally 4:59 or something. Confusing terminal & confused Laura = THERE GOES MY RIDE. I hope Henry at least made it, he had 3 more minutes than me to get there.
So fuck, I'm stuck in Atlanta by myself. But Delta Airlines is clever - there was another almost empty flight to Columbus in a little over two hours. Even though I knew I'd most likely get there the same day, I still freaked out for a good half hour. I totally felt that "alone in a crowd" feeling; suddenly I shrinked in size. Lol dramaqueen, I called Andy and my dad and Ryan to make myself feel better. I went from distressed to disgruntled, and as I got in my seat on flight 415 man I was grumpy. Then we took off, and (I had a window seat) I saw nighttime Atlanta from the sky - god, that was beautiful. Seeing that made it all worth it. It's that silver lining, guys; it's just always there.
Andy and Chelsea (his girlfriend) were waiting for me by the baggage claim, we got my suitcase (cleverly decorated in pink duct tape so as to distinguish it from all the other generic black suitcases -> easier to find), then we made the 10-15 minute drive from the Columbus Airport to Andy's apartment. And now, I'm still here, and Andy and his roommate Russ just left to work. I'm waiting for Chelsea to get off work in a few hours so we can chill. I just cleaned out their sink.. it's funny, I never clean my own room and my mom gets so worked up about it. Then I get into someone else's place and I'm being a little neat freak.
Caitlin: it's too frikin cold to make a snow angel. None of my clothes are waterproof enough. I'm sorry. I'll draw you one though?
I think I'll go play some ps2

End rant
love, laura
