Summary: Jaejoong just wants somewhere to call home again. Living by himself is really not as great as his sisters made it out to be and he yearns to be around people again. He misses the hustle and bustle and even the crying babies that make up his parents’ household but he’s too proud and stubborn to return. He is nineteen after all and fully capable of living his own life away from his ridiculously large family. Enter a tiny little girl who captures Jaejoong’s heart in an instant and he finds himself with a family…of sorts. And for a sheltered, very well-loved boy, complicated doesn’t even begin to describe his life from the moment the tearful baby crawls into his lap looking for comfort.

AN1: This is the end folks… You can find the drabbles and oneshots for this ‘verse here

AN2: Um…surprise? XD! I wrote this in an hour and I’ve had a damn rough day so please excuse any mistakes.

The house is bustling, filled with the sound of children’s laughter as well as the steady murmur of multiple adults talking. The Jung household is full to the brim, hosting Jaejoong’s entire family; all his sisters, their husbands and partners along with the fifteen children, not to mention the Kim media tycoon and his wife. It is Sunday and they are celebrating the one month anniversary of Yunho and Jaejoong’s marriage. The two Jungs are still not keen on going along with a wedding ceremony, but Jihyo has convinced Jaejoong to at least agree to a photoshoot. It was a fairly low key one, just family portraits with Yunho and Jaejoong dressed in traditional hanboks.

Yunho and Jaejoong have yet to tell his family about the impending pregnancy. Their plans to tell them on the day of their moving in was overshadowed by the death of the Chois, and by mutual agreement, both choose not to speak of it. The visit to the doctor this past Friday confirmed Jaejoong’s belief that the baby was conceived on their wedding night, and apparently, the pregnancy is progressing just fine. However, the doctor did warn that the first trimester is especially unpredictable in male pregnancies. It can either be completely event free, or utter madness and there doesn’t seem to be a medical way of ascertaining exactly which way a person will lean towards.

Well, Yunho muses as he stares at the glossy photo of his wife in his pretty pink hanbok. Jaejoong seems to be just fine. Serene even.

The man just jinxed himself.

It starts just before lunch is served. The family is settling on the back verandah, taking advantage of the inordinately warm autumn afternoon. Bodies are scattered everywhere; children and adults in the pool, more children playing soft ball on the lawn, adults lounging on the deck nursing bottles of soda, when a screech breaks the relative tranquility of the scene.

“JUNG YUNHO!”

Yunho, sitting crosslegged on the deck and playing patty cake with three toddlers looks up, his face showing his confusion as he looks around for his wife. Jihyo comes by, chuckling as she shoos him away, taking his place with Jiyool and her cousins.

“You better go. My baby brother is not happy about something.”

Everyone sends him sympathetic glances as he heads through to the kitchen. He is aware of many pairs of eyes on his back, the bifold doors are all folded to take full advantage of an almost feng shui-like indoor/outdoor flow. Jaejoong is standing in the middle of the kitchen, a ladle in one hand that he waves menacingly at Yunho when he sees the man.

“Did you taste my soup?”

“Yes.”

“What is wrong with you?”

Yunho brow furrows in utter confusion, unsure as to why his wife is so angry. He tastes his soup all the time. It’s not like it is anything new.

“I don’t understand.”

“You don’t understand?” Jaejoong’s voice is high and piercing. “Just look at this soup! You ruined it and now I have to throw it out!”

“Huh?”

“Are you daft? Why did you you have to mix it around like this! I don’t even know what happened to my soup. It was all pretty ten minutes ago and then I come back from the bathroom and it is a complete mess.” Jaejoong’s chest is heaving from the exertion of his irritation, his voice raised, his hand still waving his ladle madly.

To Yunho’s horror, his wife picks up the tureen of his perfectly good soup, and tips it down the sink.

“Jaejoong! What are you doing?!”

“It’s ruined. It’s all ugly and gross. I can’t even look at it. Don’t touch any more of my food! Go eat noona’s kim bap or something. At least a neanderthal like you can’t mess that up. Though really, you’d probably unravel it all or something and mix it around on your plate so it’s unrecognisable as kim bap,” Jaejoong almost sneers. His behaviour is completely out of sorts and utterly uncharacteristic though he himself cannot see it just yet.

Yunho’s jaw drops at Jaejoong’s words. The teenager has finished tipping out the soup and he is now moving along to the stew, and Yunho knows what is coming because he tasted that too. He holds his breath as Jaejoong lifts the lid of the pot, and cringes both outwardly and inwardly at the howl of rage from the younger man.

“JUNG YUNHO WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?”

Jaejoong’s shriek is absolutely ear piercing, and this time his oldest noona as well as his umma come running in as well. Everyone else keeps their distance though, because while Jaejoong seldom gets angry, everyone knows well enough to stay out of his way when he is in a rage. The baby of the family gets away with a lot, and his temper tantrums, while very few and far between, are legend.

“Joongie, what’s the matter?” Mrs Kim’s voice is soft and soothing as she eyes her irate son. If looks could kill, she is sure Yunho would be dead by now. But surely Jaejoong’s anger is an overreaction to whatever it is his husband has done? Not an hour ago the two were teased mercilessly for being caught canoodling behind the large tree in their backyard. What happened since then?

“This…this…this caveman! Look umma, he ruined my stew!” Jaejoong’s voice is a whiny wail as he gesticulates with the ladle he is still holding towards the open pot.

Both Mrs Kim and Jihyo step close to peer into the pot. They exchange confused glances and look back at Jaejoong.

“It looks fine to me, love.”

“FINE?” In Jaejoong’s indignance, he forgets that he is addressing his mother, and his tone borders on rude. “Look at it! I had arranged pretty layers of seaweed on the side here.” He points to some random part of the pot with his ladle. “And over here I had put some nice spirals of carrots that I made this morning.” He points to another random part of the pot. “And look! I even hurt my finger doing it.” He switches his ladle to his other hand and shoves his finger into his mother’s face. There is a bandaid over the tip, and unfortunately for Jaejoong, the finger he injured happened to be his middle finger and so to everyone watching, it looks like the teenager just gave his mother the one finger salute.

Jihyo snorts, trying to contain her laughter. Her brother is a sight to behold alright. Even in a rage, he looks absolutely adorable. Only Joongie.

Jaejoong turns on his sister, scowling at her. “What are you laughing about? Look at this disaster!” He gestures to the pot again with his wildly flying ladle. “And I even tried to make little flowers with the cherry tomatoes but they didn’t quite work out so I just cut them in half and put them here.” He points to yet another random part of the pot. “And I sprinkled spring onions over it all.”

Jaejoong crosses his arms across his chest, his brow furrowed into a deep scowl.

“Now look at it. DO YOU SEE ANY OF THAT? NO? AND I’LL TELL YOU WHY! IT’S BECAUSE OF HIM!” Jaejoong turns back to Yunho, pointing his ladle accusingly at his husband. He is almost frothing at the mouth. “See how much he cares about our wedding anniversary? I was trying to make everything look all nice and pretty for everyone and he ruined it. See, Ma? This is how he tastes my food.” Jaejoong sticks his ladle into the pot, and starts to stir violently, sloshes of stew spilling over the sides but he doesn’t care, as he glares at his husband. “Great big uncultured caveman oaf.”

And then to everyone’s shock, though not his mother’s because after nine children, it just clicks as to what is happening, Jaejoong accentuates his final word with low grunt of effort as he throws his metal ladle at Yunho’s head. Sprays of stew goes everywhere as the ladle moves through the air. The older man is too stunned to move out of the way and it clips him across his temple, flecks of stew all over him as the ladle scratches him, drawing a thin line of blood.

At the sight of the blood though, Jaejoong’s next indignant howl stutters, as he is jolted from his tantrum. His eyes are large and horrified as he sees the tiny line of red trickle down Yunho’s cheek, and with a low sound of pain, he runs around the kitchen island, slamming straight into Yunho’s chest where he starts sobbing hysterically and apologising profusely.

Yunho holds his weeping wife in his arms, trying to hold the man up. He has caused such a commotion and his crying now is so loud that pretty much everyone, including the family members who were in the pool and lawn are all crowded on the verandah, staring at the scene in silence. Most of them are wearing completely shocked expressions, the younger children gaping like gold fish, never having seen their Uncle JaeJae behave in such a manner.

Jaejoong’s words are completely unintelligible as he wails his remorse, choking on his words and tears, gulping for air as he tries to climb his husband like a tree in front of everyone. Yunho finally assists, lifting the distressed teenager up so he is straddling his waist. Jaejoong immediately hunches over, curling into the man, weeping bitterly against his cheek, smearing Yunho’s blood against his own cheek, mixing in with his tears. His crying is so miserable that even in their shock, the Kims can feel his pain.

In the silence, only the sound of Jaejoong’s harsh sobbing echoing around the kitchen, a shrill young voice is heard.

“Mama! I want my mama! Let go! Mama! Mama!”

Chaerin steps forward, eyeing her uncle warily as she struggles to hold onto a flailing Jiyool.

“No! No! Let go! I want my Mama!”

She looks over at her mother and grandmother, who both nod towards Yunho who is currently whispering to his wife.

“Jae…baby. It’s ok. I’m ok. It’s ok baby. It’s ok.”

Jaejoong simply shakes his head, tearing up more, his slim body shaking from the force of his crying. He doesn’t even try to be quiet, tears, blood and snot now making a sticky mess between them. It’s almost something out of a horror movie, the way he looks right now. All red cheeked and streaked in bodily fluids.

Jihyo hurries forward when she catches sight of Jaejoong’s face, cutting off her daughter who is still struggling to hold onto an upset Jiyool who can see both her parents. Jaejoong’s crying is scaring the baby girl and she keeps calling for him. She stares briefly at the expensive Hermès scarf she has just pulled from around her neck, sighing as she is about to ruin it beyond redemption, before she proceeds to wipe at both Yunho and Jaejoong’s faces. Her touch is gentle, but Jaejoong’s sobs don’t subside. In fact, they get worse when he sees her scarf all smeared in blood, snot and tears, and maybe even some stew.

“Hush, Joongie…calm down baby. You’re scaring Jiyoolie.” Jihyo’s voice is soft, as she wipes away at whatever she can see. Yunho’s cut is shallow and the wound is no longer bleeding, and for that she is thankful. She has no idea why the sight of it made Jaejoong react in such a manner, but she hopes her brother pulls himself together because with children, there are bound to be injuries, and if he cannot even stand to see Yunho bleed, god knows what would happen if Jiyool accidentally hurts herself.

“Ji-Ji-Jiyoo-yool?” Jaejoong hiccups, his crying finally slowing down.

“Yes, baby.”

“Mama!” Jiyool’s voice is high, her pitch is fraught with fear. “Mama! Mama!”

Jaejoong twists in Yunho’s arms, wiping at his nose, squinting at the baby girl in Chaerin’s arms.

“I’m going to put you down, ok?”

“No!”

“But Jiyool…”

“Ji-Jiyool c-c-can f-fit.”

Jaejoong gestures for Chaerin to hand him his baby girl who practically leaps from her young auntie’s arms into her mama’s, snuggling in the space between Jaejoong’s body and her father’s.

Yunho sighs, kissing the back of his baby girl’s head as she looks up at her mama, tiny hands wiping at his still damp cheeks. His hands are clasped under Jaejoong’s butt, and he glances behind him, stepping back till he hits the breakfast table where he perches, to take some of the weight of his wife and baby off his legs and back.

“Joongie-ah. What’s going on sweetheart?”

Mrs Kim steps forward, following the couple till she is standing next to them. She is rather petite and since Jaejoong is wrapped around Yunho, he is even taller than he usually is as she reaches up a hand to card through his blonde hair.

All the family from outside start spilling into the kitchen, crowding around the couple. They all sense that something is going on, but have absolutely no idea, although some of the husbands are starting to guess too. His sisters are clueless, not really realising what a nightmare they put their husbands through, and therefore not recognising Jaejoong’s behaviour. Half his sisters have only had the one pregnancy too, while the others had relatively uneventful ones in their own minds, and so it does not click in their heads.

Jihyo catches on first, having three children of her own, and Chaerin’s pregnancy was particularly difficult. She glances over at her husband who smiles ruefully at her as he nods towards the couple. She looks over at her umma, and the soft look in her mother’s eyes as she pushes away at the sweaty strands plastered to her baby brother’s forehead as he stares silently at his baby girl, still hiccuping softly, is what prompts her to speak.

“Joongie…is there something you want to tell us?”

Jaejoong doesn’t move but Yunho looks up, his expression surprised, and then light dawns in his eyes, and he blurts out the confirmation without meaning to as he looks almost accusingly at his teenage wife.

“Jae! You’re meant to be the calm and peaceful pregnant wife not the crazy one!”

At his words, the room erupts in a cacophony of sound. Various excited voices talking over each other, crowding Yunho and Jaejoong, all clambering for details and also to congratulate them.

Jiyool, although no longer afraid of the Kims, finds the voices to be too much as she sees various hands touching and pulling at her mama. Her voice is loud as she bellows, the shrill words going above the din the Kims are making.

“Go! Go! Mama, mine. Go away! Mama is mine!”

“Yah, Jiyoolie…you’re going to have to learn to share your mama in a few months,” comes the amused voice of her grandmother, and the kitchen erupts in laughter.

Yunho chuckles too, pressing a kiss against his wife’s pout, loving every second of the chaos. So much for a civilised breaking of their happy news. But somehow, this seems so much more apt, and perfect to him as he grins proudly at his large family.

AN: I am actually seriously considering a sequel. But I have no plot, no outline, nothing, except a title lmao. I just want to write fluffy YunJae with babies OTL
