But these things never sound good said like that.
Molly smiles sweetly and giggles, saying, “I thought it’d be nice to give you this. Let’s say a bird told me you’d like it.” She leans comfortably against the doorframe to his house. “I did use my own tomatoes to make that, just so you know.”
Oh, he knows. He saw her enter the Wizard’s home earlier that day, probably around noon, and every woman in the village knows what the man can do with his crystal ball. Gill knows because earlier that day he was there for some sort of tantrum mixed with monologue and denial. He doesn’t know how the man didn’t throw him out of his house. Oh, wait, probably because he brought coffee with him.
“Oh-that’s nice. Thank you.” His voice lingers for a moment before he asks, carefully, “Don’t you want to come in for a moment?”
She suppresses a yawn and shakes her head. “I’m sorry. I’m tired… I should get going.” The smile on her lips, though, warms Gill up all he needs for the night.
She kisses him goodbye, though, before she leaves.
Gill doesn’t know what to do with all the blood in his face.
In the end of things, he knows there is no need to feel jealous-protective-of Molly, because in the end of the day he is the one who she visits before she goes to sleep, her limbs slow because of her work. He is the one who she tries to please with gifts and kind words and the most beautiful of smiles.

I loveloveLOVE just how you captured Gill's awkward turtle-ness and how he's actually really worried about her but doesn't say anything. He is the type to keep his feelings to himself (making him seem cold at first) but so many people just write him off as a jerk and think that making him so is "in-character." ಠ_ಠ
teehee yes this is me overanalyzing a HM character WEEEEE
But ahhhhhhhh, I just can't express my overwhelming love for this properly in words. It's so hard to find good Gill fanfiction at all these days so this puts me over the moon ♥

and gill is such an awkward turtle that i can't really see him being anything else than that. tsudere-pants wut? :/ the way i see it, gill's just an awkward turtle trying to protect his island and what he loves (i only played animal parade and not tree of tranquility, and i think that shows), and then there's just this girl giving him tomato juice with this fairy who seems to steal his work.
awkward loves issues. ♥
...not that i mind the overanalyzing of harvest moon characters. character analyzis is always a welcome exercise! :)
(i hate to self-pimp, but...) if you really enjoyed the way i wrote this, you can always request more fic in here or in future fic request posts i make. and i'm also using gill/molly for my drable123 challenge. there's only one fic for now, but i hope i'll write more in a near future. :)
(which reminds me i have your writing comm in watch for when i have time to read fic... /drool)
