piers/jenna | combining powers to a new result | pg
Sometimes, when their group is making their way through a cave or a plateau or maybe a forest, they have to use a little bit more than what Kraden’s taught Jenna throughout her few years of tutoring under his wise gaze. These times, their reactions are quite distinct. Felix, he’s prone to use the same method over and over again, because he is just like that, and he never gives up; he knows it will work.
But, whereas Felix will accept the Mars adept’s orientation or a piece of advice from Kraden, Piers will always tackle each and every obstacle on his own. Much like he’d done upon his joining to their small party.
However, when they come across a mechanism in this lost temple, Jenna figures it all out a little bit before anyone else does. She watches the pillars that could be brought up to new heights, not by Felix’s rendered-useless Move psynergy, but by something else, something different. She watches the little tubes that dig underneath the loose floor-stones and something comes up to her.
Jenna coaxes Piers by the elbow to where she is, ignoring his protests as his conferencing with her brother is interrupted, or Sheba’s giggling for that matter. The Lemurian looks at the tubes, puzzled, and she tells him, “Douse them, Piers. Let me try something.” He looks at her, his golden eyes still unsure, but she nods, sure. Psynergy isn’t supposed to be inert, constant, just like the books from those pre-sealing alchemists claimed. They can create something new to solve new problems. Her fire and his waters, together, they can create a column of steam intense enough as to bring the stone pillars up.
Wonder created from the merging of two opposite elements.
a/n: gah. stupid fail mechanisms and lack of shipness. :|
