Firni was pestering me last night about making some more Madeleines - whining that she only got to eat "one or two" last week. (Nevermind that I made them for other people, while we brat-sat the kid while she and her hubby went out to dinner).
This time, I went old skool, and used a recipe from my mom's "Woman's Day Encyclopedia of Cookery" (1966). Yeah, we're talking old skool here.
A lot more work was involved than the recipe I got off the internet and used twice before. I don't know if the amount of effort for this one was worth it, as the internet recipe was pretty good, too.
Here the are, fresh from the oven.
Okay, more like 10 minutes old, because I had to bake two batches, and get them onto a plate.
The offering is made to the Queen of Cakes.
She deigns to take one.
