Good Hosting or Maybe It was the $2 Beer?

With the promise of $2 beers [ultra rare at TH] and 20% off of food; I told people, who then told people…well you get the idea. The first third of the pub was packed and it was quite the scene with non-members checking out the cheap drinks. Add to that a $5 dollar winter beer tasting that seemed to be bottomless but this being a “school night”, I knew better than to participate. But.. Pugdog, Pintzilla, Jack Dublin and Morris729 cut loose, nonetheless.

Much time was spent with Rahr’s Oktoberfest and nice it was. I even got to revisit Abita’s 20th anniversary pilsner[the best ever made] - all at $2 a bottle. TH even wheeled out multiples of Avery Samuel and more than a few braved this beast.

I took some sips to see how it was holding up as this was the May’06 vintage I have resting in my beer cellar. Yep, it’s still a bit hideous. I think I’ll pop it in May’08 as I feel the two-year mark is the most for aging beer, especially at 14.5% abv.

zerilos & crew updated me on his 007-James Bond-I’ll-kill-you-motherfucker cell phone job and the correct pronunciation of a certain country’s rice noodle soup. Pho-off coming soon, dude.
