There are flashes of brilliance but too many routines pasted together prevents cohesion and central focus. Expect repetition of themes from past books [again with the centipedes…]. What’s sad is that one character, an old writer is really Burroughs in which he details himself at the “end of words”.

By his late 60’s, I’m sure the heroin ate away the parts of his brain that age didn’t. This book was published when he was about 73 and it seems to me that the only reason this was published is that Burrough’s name had cache’/value/reputation in the market. And probably to give him a few coins to live off of.

I think he was aware of it the whole time. On last hustle on the marks.
