House of Blues calling to cancel dinner service seemed off -but the show was still on.
In fact, it's was moved to another room. To me this meant low ticket sales but luckily, it was the biggest room.
Old folks in the crowd as expected more than a few Rainbow, Y&T shirts.
A couple guys sported the "Dad look" -plaid shorts. Shameful.
Sightings: members of Hellyeah, Drowning Pool, Vinny Paul Abbot [left after Fozzy], John Perez of Solitude Aeturnus.
While paying $12 for a 24oz Heineken, I spied some tanned MILF boobage. I need to hit these shows more often.
Check out the dude's battle vest below -Warrant, Poison, Cinderella? Lame, lame.
On With the Show
Halycon Way- Watered down power metal. Backing tape w/guitar keyboards.
Lefty drummer that was fun to watch as I'm right handed. Hard workers - singer even helped moved their equipment offstage
and I saw the guitar player and bassist handing out advert cards at the end of the show.
I think they won't progress past opening band status despite that.
Fozzy- Metallic cock rock with backing tape featuring guitar, keyboards, vocals & fx.
Singer Chris Jericho's presence and moves didn't match his large frame. Off after three songs to the bar seeking cookies and MILF.
Saxon- I expected them to be good/tight as they're actively gigging but I was blown away.
They hit the stage hard and worked it like men half their age the whole time.
Didn't dig the sing along yeah-yeah thing but some people do. I blame Europeans. :>
Will definitely see them again if there's a better bands with them the next time they swing this way.
Idea: A tribute band called Sexon -Saxon tunes done Mentors style. Yea or Nea?
