Weekend del BeerDiablo 06092013

Jun 09, 2013 23:05

Saturday, HermanoDiablo brought NietoDiablo and NietaDiablo over after their visit to the Dallas Arboretum.
The nephew is old enough to have an attention span, the niece isn't and does not. Classic arcade games on
Xbox kept HermanoDiablo and NietoDiablo occupied while improvised games with some balloons I blew up entertained NietaDiablo.

Heads Banging, Wit's Flying
Hit Deep Ellum's Wit's End to catch a show featuring mostly Southern Metal [SM] bands. An old friend plays in Hellgoat
and I catch their shows when possible. Truth be told -SM live is cool but it's not a style I actively listen too.

“Everyone, it's Abigail's birthday”. She seemed to be in control of all the band's brains as each set contained a shout out.
No bigger bday shenanigans than that. No tales of vomiting or improvised weapons in a bar fight.

Orthodox Fuzz - SM with a few guitar twists but not enough to win me over. Bass player's Rickenbacker yielded best bass tone of the night.

Hellgoat -SM; tight set of chicken-fried Sabbath. Anxious to hear new material with my friend's participation.

Project Armageddon -interesting [in more ways than one] and refreshing part of the bill.
No SM here as the band leaned towards traditional doom/classic metal mix than the other bands.

Nothing like getting home around 2ish, fixing popcorn and watching a TV show where zombies work out their feelings.

Cook You Fool, Cook
On-call duties start Monday. Fixed meals for the day and into next week, chores, etc. I believe I'm prepped to do little from home;
I hope to screw-off to the highest order as I'm pretty well caught up and purchase orders need to be approved before
the next project's yoke bears down. Always a good time to further review manuals and update documentation.
