Pterosaurs Circle over Petabytes 09242012
Black clouds continue to impair the Pterosaur's flight path -you guessed it, inner and outer forces
continue to peck away at this project. I'm not shocked anymore; I just revise, correct, adjust and move on.
Inner Conflict
Part of my last config was wrong and though it was caught, Breckenbrew confused it with another box
in the test environment [close serial #'s]. He let it go and the activate failed. No outage, just delayed to this weekend.
Clivesdale forgot to release the new Dtown box to the storage group. Yikes.
My group is on the ropes. Two temps start in two weeks but I wonder if there's any other changes coming up.
Kayak still hasn't given Breckenbrew all official manager powers.
Outer Conflict
International Beer Mafia continues to have difficulties. A repair to a new powered-up storage box not in
production introduced a new part; one not documented in our certification process -that should've been.
The action included a power-down -this isn't setting well with management.
We don't have hot standbys of 40, 80 and 130 TB disk [coming soon?].
Then a processor microcode upgrade overshot the levels approved -no outage but this is a large screw up.
International Beer Mafia replaced the techs assigned to the Dtown site.
I've known the “new guys” for 10-12 years; no biggie but wonder where this is going.
Everything is paused due to chaos but the storage migration plods forth and the Pterosaurs continue to circle...
