By the end of this year, DFW will have had seven breweries open and multiple beer festivals
-two festivals are just a week apart. Let's see how those do.
Last year at this time -zero breweries, zero festivals.
Yet, I find myself indifferent. The lust for the suds is still there but the hype doesn't
register. The duration I've been into craft beer sees re-occurring patterns,
plus the quality isn't up to par of the best Texas brewers and their out of state competition.
The Shiny Upside
The state laws currently keep beer festivals from bringing one-offs from out of state breweries that don't distribute in Texas.
The only draw would be to sample multiple new beers from multiple brewers but I tire of the fest atmosphere.
The Dallas events have crappy music as well.
The upside is that while everyone's at the fests or beer events, I get better service
at other joints around town. More like avoiding the undertow than going against the flow.
