Came across notice for an opera that captured my imagination:
The Lighthouse. Expect to be thoroughly freaked out. This opera is based on the true story of three isolated
lighthouse-keepers who disappeared mysteriously off the coast of far-northern Scotland in 1900.
A minimal cast (three singers) creates disturbing imagery and the small orchestra includes an out-of-tune piano
and percussionists playing bones.
It's only a three-day run ending on Sunday -I'm on-call but YouTube comes to the rescue.
Theater/Opera is about interpretation and can yield poor results. Maybe I don't mind so much.
