Kölsch KäseWurst Kööl

Saturday munchies call for a visit to Henk’s European Deli and Black Forest Bakery. They put the “awe” in sausage.

Tonight featured 70+ year-old Ludwig the Accordionist, decked out in full Teutonic fashion: shorts, lederhosen, funky hat with a feather. Oh yes, and an earring. The act also included Viagra jokes, crowd participation and pressing the flesh between sets. Vegas, Hannibal Lecter and Oktoberfest all rolled up into one.

The canned accompaniment by the "band" enabled me to forgo the KäseWurst[hint: has cheese] and got the Polish plate instead. Generous dabs of mustard & horseradish along with the sides of sauerkraut and potato pancakes made this a feast.

You’ve got to love a place that serves draught Spaten Oktoberfest  for $2.75 a stein. I loved them twice.

Quoth the Accordionist:
In heaven there is no beer, that's why they drink it here.

Though I’m an Athiest, if I come across a proven religion that rewards you in the afterlife with beer and talented virgins, consider me converted. ;>
