(ill do this like an acceptance speech cause i just watched the oscars.. also it will be 5 eras.)

1. (1972 - 1984) Neil Diamond and Karen Carpenter - for showing me what great pop music and harmonies can be
2. (1985 - 1993) Ramones, Devo, Talking Heads, Television, REM, Public Enemy - for opening my eyes to experimental and cutting edge music making
3. (1994 - 2000) Weezer and They Might Be Giants - for resetting the fire in my heart for great pop music
4. (2001 - Current) Pinback, Alkaline Trio, Modest Mouse, The Shins, Thornton and lots more - for keeping great music alive and reinventing the wheel over and over again.
5. (All my Life) Heather my Wife, Brent Morris, My Mom, Zak Kendrick and my Brother Noah Curtis - Heather showed me the magic of Pavement and ill be forever grateful (L7 still sucks), Brent showed me what genius looks like behind an insturment, my Mom gave me the courage to sing my own songs, Zak opened my mind to some of the best music ever written and last but never least, my brother Noah for sharing the musical journey and teaching me how to really love the music i know.
(honorable mention to God for giving Frank Sinatra that indescribable voice.)
