signs of life
I'm seeing stirring, signs of life, on LiveJournal! Like spring flowers peeking through dirt, or birds cautiously chirping again as spring thaws our cold winter bones... It could be the LJ promotion from yesterday, too, I guess?
Speaking of which, isn't it delightful to break out spring clothes? I swear I had a layer of dust on mine. I don't even know where my sunglasses are.
I have so much going on! Jen is travelling this weekend, and there are a few events planned (who wants to go to a fish fry, vegetarian-friendly!, or pierogie/banh mi with me tonight or tomorrow?) besides my usual orgy of video games. But throughout April there are multiple shows, craft beer events, and magic-related events, too numerous to list here. If you want to catch me out of the house, this is the month to do it.
True story: I wrote "craft bear" instead of "craft beer" in the previous paragraph. Do you also imagine a hipster bear sitting behind a table crocheting beer coozies, or something? Probably selling hand-blown glass jars for your artisinal honey. I'd buy one.
I just finished an amazing book of card magic, which is only meaningful to very few of you, but... John Bannon's latest really resonated with me. Not just the tricks, but all the thinking and the little adjustments and subtleties added to well-known principles. I think I don't read enough fiction because reading magic books is always so delightful!
