Cole wandered in with the other baby. "Who's Daddy's little girl?" he cooed, then looked over at Sam. "Wait, which one do you have?" he asked. It was near impossibly telling the twins apart, although Phoebe seemed to be able to with ease.

"Shh, you'll wake her up," Sam hissed, and tried to mentally backtrack to this morning. "Persephone . . . I think."

"I think we're going to have to give them temporary tattoos or something," Cole whispered, bouncing Panthea (?) in his arms.

"And have Phoebe kill us?" Sam looked down at Persephone (it was Persephone, right?) and quirked an eyebrow. "I mean, look at that perfect skin, you really want to put a mark on that?"

"We have to make sure they maintain separate identities," Cole said worriedly. "It's important that they be treated as individuals." It was possible he was stressing way too much and way too early about the matter.

Sam sat up carefully, so as to not wake the baby (whichever one she was), and just looked at him.

"I'm cutting you off from the child development section on Amazon."

"Are you saying it's not important?" Cole said, bouncing Panthea. Or possibly Persephone.

"Your other daddy's a big goofball," Sam told both girls. "'course it's important. But you sound like a textbook."

Cole made a face at Sam. "I am just sharing what I've learned," he protested. "I've been doing a lot of reading."

"See?" Sam told the twins. "Goofball."

They didn't seem to react to that, at least not that he could tell.

"Your other daddy is a dork," Cole crooned to Panthea. "Isn't he? Yes he is."

Sam rolled his eyes indulgently and nuzzled the top of Persephone's head. "But you love both of us anyway, right?"

"I love you, Daddies," Cole said, gently taking Panthea's arm and having her make a little wave.

And that was so cute it was a miracle Sam didn't melt into a little puddle on the couch right then and there.

"Your daddies love you too," he said softly, and bounced Persephone a little as he added in a higher-pitched voice, "I love you too, Daddies!"

"I love Daddies mooooore," Cole crooned on Panthea's behalf.

"Nuh uh," Sam felt obligated to speak up for Persephone. "I do!"
