It was the big 30. Not so bad an age and everyone I know is getting older with me, so what's the difference?
It was a great Birthday weekend.
Friday was chill. A bunch of us went to the Idiotarod planning meeting. It was at this beautiful brownstone in Prospect Heights, where apparently only one person lives. It was fun, lots of people running around and we got these great COBRA(Carts Of Brooklyn Racing Association)jumpsuits. They were bright red with the COBRA insignia on the back.
Saturday was the Idiotarod. If you don't know what it is go here
http://www.cartsofbrooklyn.com/ It's a fun insane race where 5 people dress up in costume and pull shopping carts through the streets of NYC.
klingrap and I help run part of Checkpoint A(not to be confused with Checkpoint 1). Along with our friend Balk Tick we ran the JUMP OF DEATH!!!! Not so deadly, but a lot of fun. Lots of drinking and bribery and shenagans. We did dinner after the race and took a nap at home before my party.
The party was great, not too big, not too small. Just right. Last year, was a HUGE party with lots people thrown by
klingrap and was a "Steak and Strippers" birthday party. This year I took it down a few notches and decided to just have a loft party. No strippers, No Djs, No Hassel. Well, it was great night with some great gifts(mostly of alcohol) and Klingrap and I went home with a beautiful woman :D.
Sunday(my actual birthday) was brunch with
Zaghareet and
Swayworn at my favorite brunch place, Yuca Bar. and afterwards there was the Killagrrl auction. Check here for details www.asylumvillage.com/killa.htm It's a sad story but people really came out and supported for Killa. At one point I was stripped to my underwear and saran wrapped to a stripper pole while the whole bar sang happy birthday. Kind of embarrassing but kind of fun too. Then people started putting money down(and up) the saran wrap. i made $60 and all the money got donated to killagrrl's fund. Klingrap and I also won a ticket to BM!!! This is good since, we hadn't bought ours yet. So, now we only have to buy one. Afterwards, we went for a quiet dinner with 15 friends to Shabu-Tatsu and great little Shabu-shabu restaurant where they you do table top cooking of meat and vegetables in boiling water. It's fun and interactive.
