the system gives you just enough to make you think that you see change...

so. i made it to point. i made it through isle royale in the UP. and I made it to the day before grad school. whew.
i'm glad moving is over, i hate moving. ergh. it went quicker though with dad and jorge helping. thank goodness. it just takes me so long when i do it by myself.
isle royale was fun. it was beautiful up there. we saw a moose mom and baby which was awsome. we had some beautiful campsites and some fun backpacking, it was a good time. i got to eat alot of thimble berries which were delicious. i don't think i can do a backpacking trip that is much longer than 5 days. my back just gets tired as do my feet and the whole novelty of camping, it all gets old hehe. but it was fun and i'm glad we went.
i had my orientation for grad school on friday, it was fine. just mainly dates and logistical things the whole day. it was good to meet the others and the professors and what not. i got more good news - i know i now have 2 assistantships, one with the school of ed, and the other with com dis. i'll be working with 3 professors and 15 hours a week, which is pretty awesome. it's good pay too, so i cannot complain. i know this will be a super busy year. it's a bummer b/c i probably will have class during winterim too, to make up for a class so i can get school certified. so that means i will have class from tomorrow through the winter, through the summer and all the way until next december of '08. ugh. but then after that i am basically done and all i have is an externship. i can make it, it's only 1 1/2 years. i just know i'll be so busy. ia lready have like 5 meetings within my first week of school. oiy vey. and i'm taking 15 credits, and apparenlty the credits are not equivalent to the amount of work, i have way more work - of course. ah well. welcome to grad school i guess. i bought my books - i think it as more than i've evern spent on them before, it hink it's about 450. however, i looked online and bought some of them there instead and so now i'm saving over 50 bucks - go me go.
it's nice to be int he same city as jorge now. whew. we made it through the long distance thing. it's weird now b/c if i know i have work to do, like errands etc - i can't relax and want to get up and go, he just kind of lazes around a while and maybe will get one thing done. hehe i can't handle that i need to get things done if they're around to be done. and homwork does not really count - but ya know, food shopping, bills etc. so we'll have to adjust now since neither of us really have been together in real world stuff - australia does not count because we had no responsibilities. it'll be fine, just readjusting that's all.
i guess that's it. time for a shower and then to get a bit of food.
here's to the final hours of summer. may be my last summer ever - aww how sad.
it's good to be here though and good to get this grad school thing going. here we go.
